Journeyman Plumber

About the role

The Journeyman Plumber will coordinate installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems on commercial, industrial, residential, and government construction projects. The role ensures work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with codes and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain water, waste, vent, storm, and gas piping, as well as fixtures such as toilets, sinks, faucets, water heaters, and pumps.
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and plumbing schematics to layout piping runs, fixture locations, and penetrations.
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national plumbing codes and assist with inspections.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, threading machines, and specialty plumbing equipment safely and maintain them in good condition.
• Follow safety policies, use proper PPE, and work collaboratively with foremen and other trades.

Required profile

• Valid Journeyman Plumber license or certification.
• Minimum 4 years of plumbing experience in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Physical ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Required skills

• Installation and repair of plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Pipe cutting, threading, grooving, soldering, brazing, and solvent‑welding.
• Testing plumbing systems for leaks, pressure, and proper operation.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and specifications.
• Operating hand tools, power tools, and threading machines safely.
