About the role
The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Job Coach to work at the West Central Georgia Regional Hospital in Columbus. The role supports individuals receiving mental health services by helping them develop vocational, interpersonal, and independent living skills for successful community reintegration.
Key responsibilities
- Assess work readiness and assist clients in setting employment‑related goals.
- Teach workplace expectations, provide on‑site coaching, and monitor progress during work therapy and vocational activities.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary treatment team to align vocational activities with each client’s treatment plan.
Required profile
- High school diploma/GED plus at least 24 months of job‑related training, or equivalent experience providing direct care services to special‑needs populations.
- Experience working with individuals who have serious mental illness, behavioral health needs, or intellectual/developmental disabilities is highly desirable.
