IT Onsite Associate – Sign Shop Technician

About the role

The IT Onsite Associate – Sign Shop Technician designs, fabricates, and installs a wide range of signage for medical, educational, research, and administrative facilities on the UAMS campus and off‑site locations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, fabricate, and install signage for medical, educational, research, and administrative facilities on campus and offsite.
• Coordinate with end users, building managers, and project managers to determine sign and graphics needs and ensure compliance with UAMS guidelines.
• Interpret technical details such as LED layouts, aluminum frame construction, basic wiring, attachment methods, and sheet‑goods cutting and forming.
• Respond to sign system failures, perform repairs or replacements promptly to maintain wayfinding for patients and visitors.

Required profile

• High school diploma; associate’s, bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.
• At least 2 years experience with cabling, low‑voltage systems, carpentry/building maintenance, and sign design/fabrication.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to be on‑call for off‑hour trouble calls.
