IT Lead Analyst – Data Conversion Services

About the role

We are seeking an IT Lead Analyst to drive data conversion strategy and execution for system implementations and upgrades within 3M’s Data Conversion Services. The role collaborates with business, IT, and vendor teams worldwide to ensure successful data migration and post‑go‑live stabilization.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support data conversion strategy and execution for system implementations or upgrades.
• Analyze source and target data structures, mappings, and transformation requirements.
• Coordinate with business, IT, and vendor teams to define conversion rules and validate outcomes.
• Manage data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and load activities.
• Identify data quality issues and drive remediation efforts.
• Oversee testing activities, including mock conversions, reconciliation, and validation.
• Monitor project timelines, risks, dependencies, and issue resolution related to conversion work.
• Document mapping specifications, conversion logic, and process controls.
• Support cutover planning and post‑go‑live data stabilization.
• Ensure compliance with governance, security, and data management standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technology field.
• Minimum five years of data conversion services experience on large‑scale projects in private, public, government, or military environments.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Willingness to work on‑site at 3M’s Maplewood, MN location at least four days per week.
• Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
