IT Intern – Summer 2027 (Austin)

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Information Technology Intern to join Saronic Technologies for the summer of 2027. The intern will work on day‑to‑day IT operations, supporting hardware, software and network environments in a fast‑paced defense‑technology setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line support for desktops, laptops, servers, printers and mobile devices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated hardware, software and network issues.
• Perform routine system maintenance, including updates, security patches and backups.
• Document and track tickets in a help‑desk system.
• Assist senior staff with migrations, system upgrades and complex projects.
• Follow security best practices for data protection and access control.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑moving environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with at least one OS: Windows, macOS or Linux.
• Familiarity with help‑desk tools such as Jira, ServiceNow or Zendesk.
• Basic knowledge of endpoint management (Microsoft Intune, Jamf, SCCM).
• Understanding of identity services (Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta).
• Networking concepts: DNS, DHCP, VPN, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi.
• Scripting or automation experience with PowerShell, Python or Bash.
