Investment Banking Sr. Analyst/Associate – Energy

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Investment Banking Senior Analyst or Associate to join Santander’s Energy & Energy Transition coverage team in Houston. The role will involve supporting M&A, capital raise, strategic advisory and leveraged finance transactions for energy clients, offering immediate responsibility and high visibility within a growing U.S. platform.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare client presentations, pitch books and detailed financial analyses.
• Build, review and maintain financial models and valuation analyses.
• Oversee analysts’ deliverables to ensure accuracy and timely delivery.
• Lead due‑diligence processes and coordinate with internal teams and client counterparties.
• Participate in client meetings, deal discussions and business development activities.
• Conduct industry and company research to support origination and client strategy.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team culture and processes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, STEM or a related field.
• Relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance or a related advisory role.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
