Investment Accounting Associate II - Alternative Investments

About the role

The Accounting Associate II position sits in the Financial Controllership team, within the Investment Controllership, reporting to the Director of Partnerships. It is a full-time role based in Boston or Springfield, Massachusetts, for someone who enjoys a dynamic, agile accounting environment and wants to drive process improvements, analysis and closer coordination with business partners on investment activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the ongoing growth and analysis of the Investment Controllership team and other key initiatives.
• Take part in the monthly, quarterly and annual close cycles.
• Identify and implement accounting improvements that increase the team's business value and efficiency.
• Initiate and lead increasingly complex continuous improvement activities.
• Help solve problems to improve quality, cycle times, efficiency, employee engagement and customer satisfaction.
• Make recommendations to improve the control environment of the Investment Services Controllership team.
• Participate in implementing the company's new ledger.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• 4+ years of investment accounting experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
• Ideal: CPA designation or progress toward certification.
• Ideal: knowledge of statutory (STAT) and GAAP accounting.

Required skills

• 2+ years of Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, PivotTables, data analysis and large financial datasets.
• Strong analytical skills and clear communication of financial results.
• Ability to work independently and build relationships across teams and with third parties.
