Intermediate Welder

About the role

The Intermediate Welder is responsible for completing routine welding assignments within clearly defined processes, joining, fabricating and repairing metal and other weldable materials using appropriate techniques while working under moderate supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Uses metal core MIG, TIG, flux‑core or stick welding processes (must pass two or more).
• Welds brackets, braces and performs position welds on code‑specified materials.
• Operates flame and plasma cutting torches and basic cutting equipment.
• Positions workpieces in jigs, fixtures or guides using measuring tools.
• Follows Welding Procedure Specifications and conducts required non‑destructive examinations.

Required profile

• High school diploma or welding school training.
• Minimum one year of related welding experience.
• Must pass 3G or 6G pipe test and applicable welding tests.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Required skills

• MIG, TIG, flux‑core and stick welding.
• Flame and plasma cutting.
• Reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Knowledge of pipe, structural and vessel materials.
• Ability to operate welding equipment and occasional forklift.
