Intermediate Clinical Billing Specialist

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking an Intermediate Clinical Billing Specialist to support accurate billing and reimbursement processes for its clinical services. This full‑time, day‑shift position works within the Finance and Core Clinical Billing Office, collaborating with clinicians, coders, and insurance partners.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and submit clinical claims in compliance with payer guidelines.
• Resolve billing discrepancies, follow up on denials, and ensure timely reimbursement.
• Maintain patient billing records and ensure confidentiality of health information.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and audit preparation.
• Provide support and training to staff on billing software and best practices.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree or higher in health administration, finance, or related field.
• At least 2‑3 years of experience in medical billing or clinical revenue cycle.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare billing regulations and payer policies.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
