Integrated Production Unit Leader

About the role

This Integrated Production Unit Leader (IPU) position reports to the Operations Manager and is focused on launching a new product in Richmond, VA. The IPU coordinates plant equipment, personnel and production processes so that production meets order demand, specifications, quality and planning targets, covering planning and fulfillment, assembly, packaging and testing for both in-house production and contract manufacturing. The role is onsite in Richmond.

Key responsibilities

• Hire a team of production supervisors, fulfillment specialists, quality engineers and assemblers to launch a new production line.
• Coordinate with process engineers and procurement specialists on setting up the new line.
• Ensure production scheduling and plans meet the volume requirements of the demand plan and inventory service levels.
• Drive a strong health and safety culture.
• Recommend technical equipment and facility improvements, identify deficiencies and oversee corrective actions.
• Manage critical product or equipment issues with internal teams and own material fulfillment.
• Support the sales team during customer visits and work with Operational Excellence teams to integrate lean manufacturing principles.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing and production.
• Demonstrated leadership of production and fulfillment teams.
• Experience localizing new products.
• Work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Required skills

• SAP experience (required).
