Instrumentation & Electrical Technician

About the role

AdvanSix is seeking an Instrumentation‑Electrical (I/E) Technician to support its chemical manufacturing facilities. The technician will diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain a wide range of instrument and electrical systems that keep production running safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot critical equipment failures, both AC and DC electronics.
• Use electronic test equipment such as VOMs, oscilloscopes, meggers and calibrators.
• Read and interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic and instrumentation drawings and schematics.
• Install, service, and repair PLC/DCS hardware, software and control circuits.
• Diagnose and repair AC/DC motors and related control circuits.
• Maintain 480/240 V three‑phase MCCs and power distribution systems.
• Replace control devices (limit, proximity, photo switches) and pneumatic/hydraulic valves.
• Repair instrumentation devices (pressure, flow, level, temperature).
• Perform conduit bending, wire pulling, and high‑voltage wiring.
• Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance and operate aerial work platforms as needed.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work safely in a high‑voltage industrial environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
