Instructor of Geosciences (Faculty Position)

About the role

Tarleton State University seeks an enthusiastic Instructor of Geosciences to join the Department of Chemistry, Geosciences & Physics. This 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track faculty position offers the chance to teach undergraduate students, develop curriculum, and contribute to a vibrant academic community in Stephenville, Texas.

Key responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate geoscience courses, including labs and field components.
• Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and assessments.
• Participate in departmental service, including serving as Campus Security Authority.
• Provide academic advising and support student success initiatives.
• Potentially teach at multiple Tarleton campuses or via approved online modalities.

Required profile

• Earned graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in geosciences or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the undergraduate level.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and student development.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
