Instructor – Mechanical Engineering Technology & Mechanical Engineering

About the role

Tarleton State University seeks an Instructor to teach Mechanical Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering courses on its RELLIS campus in Bryan, Texas. This 9‑month, non‑tenure‑track appointment supports both the Department of Engineering Technology and the Department of Mechanical, Environmental, and Civil Engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver undergraduate courses in mechanical engineering technology and mechanical engineering.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students.
• Participate in curriculum design, assessment, and continuous improvement across both departments.
• Engage in scholarly activities, including research, publications, and professional service.
• Contribute to departmental and university service committees as needed.

Required profile

• Earned graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated teaching experience at the college level or equivalent professional experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively across two academic departments.
