About the role
The Texas A&M University School of Law seeks an Instructional Designer II to lead the development and continuous improvement of high‑quality online, hybrid, and technology‑enhanced courses. The role partners with faculty and subject‑matter experts to create engaging, learner‑centered experiences and provides guidance on best practices, emerging technologies, and adult learning principles.
Key responsibilities
- Collaborates with instructors and SMEs to design and develop online, blended, and web‑enhanced courses.
- Leads course design projects from concept through implementation, coordinating with instructional technology, IT, and multimedia teams.
- Administers and maintains online development resources and ensures ADA compliance.
- Provides faculty training on instructional strategies and course design.
- Researches emerging instructional design innovations and trends.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of instructional design or related experience.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in curricular design and experience working with faculty.
Required skills
- Proficiency with Learning Management Systems, especially Canvas.
- Knowledge of online course design principles and instructional technologies.
- Ability to implement accessibility standards for digital content.
- Familiarity with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
