Instruction Paraprofessional 2 – Terrell RYDC, Dawson, GA

About the role

Under general supervision, the Instruction Paraprofessional 2 provides classroom and workshop instruction to clients at the Terrell Regional Youth Development Center (RYDC) in Dawson, GA. The position supports a structured program that blends practical life‑skills training with workforce readiness activities.

Key responsibilities

• Adapt instructional methods and materials to meet diverse client needs, abilities, and interests.
• Assess students’ educational and adjustment needs through observation and testing.
• Conduct classes, workshops, and demonstrations covering language, life, and workforce entry skills.
• Plan and coordinate recreational programs that teach decision‑making, physical fitness, and social skills.
• Provide counseling on daily living habits and work routines.
• Estimate material needs, manage inventory, and handle equipment repairs or adjustments.

Required profile

• Associate’s degree in a related field or a vocational/technical degree, or a high school diploma/GED with at least one year of instructional or childcare experience.
• Experience equivalent to the lower‑level Instruction Paraprofessional 1 position.
