About the role
The Inpatient Pharmacist ensures the safe, effective, and compliant use of medications by performing both clinical and distributive functions. This role involves reviewing and verifying medication orders, supervising sterile and non‑sterile compounding, conducting medication history reviews, and providing drug information and evidence‑based recommendations to the care team.
Key responsibilities
- Review and verify medication orders for appropriateness.
- Supervise sterile and non‑sterile compounding processes.
- Conduct medication history reviews and reconcile therapies.
- Provide drug information and evidence‑based clinical recommendations.
- Support disease management and promote medication adherence.
- Educate patients and caregivers on medication use.
- Coordinate workflow, staffing, and supervise pharmacy personnel.
- Maintain formulary, inventory, and ensure accurate preparation, dispensing, and documentation in compliance with regulatory and institutional requirements.
Required profile
- Graduate of an ACPE‑accredited School of Pharmacy with a PharmD degree.
- Licensed in Arizona or eligible for Arizona licensure.
- Ability to meet physical demands: color vision, sit 37 % of the time, stand 30 %, walk 33 %, and lift 25‑75 lb.
- Willingness to work in an environment with possible exposure to blood, body fluids, chemicals, or radioactive substances.
