Industrial Minerals Inspector – Reno, NV

About the role

Bureau Veritas is seeking an Industrial Minerals Inspector to perform field inspections, weighing and sampling of bulk metal and mineral commodities in the Reno area. The role supports the Metals & Minerals division and represents both Bureau Veritas and its clients professionally.

Key responsibilities

• Attend various sites to conduct or supervise inspection, weighing and sampling of commodities as directed.
• Perform visual and mechanical verification of materials and products.
• Collect representative analytical samples and handle sample receipt, signing, and dispatch.
• Maintain accurate time logs and activity reports within 24 hours of each inspection.
• Adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards, using required personal protective equipment.

Required profile

• Self‑motivated field worker with strong time‑management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in remote locations and adapt to changing conditions.
• Effective written, verbal and email communication with clients and internal teams.
• Valid driver’s license and Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Technical ability in sampling, measurement and inspection of dry‑bulk metals and minerals.
• Experience handling and transporting samples up to 50 lb (occasionally 100 lb with assistance).
• Knowledge of safety and quality procedures for field inspections.
