Industrial Engineer V (E5)

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer (Level V, E5) to lead data‑driven analysis and operational improvements for its semiconductor and display equipment business in Santa Clara.

Key responsibilities

• Structure and break down complex business problems, develop hypotheses and deliver data‑driven recommendations.
• Lead rigorous analysis across large data sets and synthesize insights for executive consumption.
• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders—including Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Finance—to co‑create deliverables and accelerate execution.
• Optimize operations and business processes to achieve measurable performance gains, cycle‑time reduction and cost savings.
• Apply program‑management discipline to keep initiatives within scope, schedule and impact.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or equivalent; MBA or Master’s preferred.
• 10–15 years of relevant experience, preferably in the semiconductor industry or consulting.
• Proven ability to work in a matrix environment and influence without authority.
• Strong oral and written communication, organizational and analytical skills.

Required skills

• Expert‑level data‑analytics tools: SQL, Excel, Tableau, Power BI.
• Programming: Python; familiarity with Applied Smart Factory (APF) a plus.
• Lean/Six Sigma methodology (DMAIC, Kaizen) with Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
