Inclusion Aide – Support Children with Special Needs

About the role

Join the Dundee Township Park District as an Inclusion Aide, supporting elementary‑aged children who need special accommodations. In this seasonal, part‑time role you will help create a safe, inclusive, and active recreation environment where every child can thrive.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children, promoting inclusion, safety, and respect.
• Facilitate physical and wellness activities tailored to diverse needs.
• Provide reasonable accommodations such as breaks, small‑group settings, and preferential seating.
• Set up and maintain adaptive equipment and ensure accessibility.
• Follow safety protocols, administer first aid when needed, and complete incident reports.

Required profile

• Enrolled in or completed coursework in Therapeutic Recreation, Special Education, or a related field.
• Experience working with children requiring special accommodations and leading youth activities.
• Strong customer service, communication, and listening abilities.
• Ability to stay calm and act rationally in high‑stress or emergency situations.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (training available if needed).
