Hydraulic Engineer – Civil Engineer

About the role

Wilson Engineers is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Engineer – Civil Engineer to join its Tempe, AZ office. The role supports Northern Nevada operations, works 40 hours per week on‑site, and offers relocation assistance for well‑qualified candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare hydrologic and hydraulic models using HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, and Flo‑2D.
• Develop hydrologic and hydraulic studies and obtain FEMA permitting.
• Research jurisdictional drainage requirements and incorporate them into design and construction drawings.
• Oversee production of drainage design and construction drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Manage data and create exhibits with ArcGIS and QGIS.
• Collaborate as a member of a multi‑discipline team.
• Mentor EIT staff on hydrologic and hydraulic theory and practice.
• Conduct site visits and document findings.
• Write and coordinate graphic materials for presentations and documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum five years of drainage experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Attention to detail and strong knowledge of construction means, methods, and techniques.
• Capability to prepare civil engineering documents and specifications.
