HVAC New Construction Estimator

About the role

R.J. Kielty is looking for an experienced HVAC Estimator to join its New Construction division in Orlando. The role involves reviewing residential construction plans, preparing competitive estimates, and collaborating with builders, vendors, and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review construction plans, specifications, addenda and bid documents.
• Prepare detailed HVAC estimates for single‑family and multifamily new‑construction projects.
• Perform material and equipment takeoffs and calculate labor, equipment, material and subcontractor costs.
• Request and evaluate vendor and manufacturer pricing, and prepare clear proposals.
• Identify plan discrepancies, submit RFIs, and track bid deadlines and revisions.
• Support project handoff after award and maintain relationships with builders and suppliers.

Required profile

• Proven HVAC estimating experience in residential new construction.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and mechanical plans.
• Knowledge of Florida building codes, energy requirements and HVAC standards.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bids.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
