HVAC Laboratory Technician (1st Shift)

About the role

The HVAC Laboratory Technician supports on‑site testing operations in Plano, TX, ensuring equipment and test setups are correctly prepared and executed for client projects. The role works primarily on the first shift and may collaborate with second‑shift teams as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Set up, calibrate, and maintain laboratory test equipment according to engineering data sheets and client specifications.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and operational instructions to perform accurate tests.
• Execute defined test plans, record results, and generate detailed test reports.
• Communicate with customers during setup and testing to confirm requirements and discuss outcomes.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic calibration of laboratory instruments.
• Provide recommendations for equipment improvements and assist engineering staff with test‑related problem solving.

Required profile

• Vocational training or a 2‑year degree in HVAC technology.
• Universal EPA certification.
• Prior experience in HVAC installation, repair, or testing is preferred.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work independently within defined limits.
