HVAC Design Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented HVAC Design Engineer / CAD Designer to join our engineering team. The position focuses on creating construction‑ready HVAC drawings and coordination for commercial projects across the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate HVAC shop drawings for air distribution, chilled water, hot water, refrigerant piping, and equipment layouts.
• Develop coordination drawings that integrate mechanical systems with architectural, structural, plumbing, electrical, and fire protection disciplines.
• Produce as‑built drawings based on field mark‑ups and maintain revision control.
• Generate material quantity takeoffs (MTO) and Bills of Materials (BOM) for ductwork, piping, valves, fittings, supports, and equipment.
• Review contract documents, specifications, RFIs, and change orders; update drawings accordingly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience preparing HVAC shop drawings.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Autodesk Revit is preferred.
• Familiarity with BIM, Navisworks, or other 3D modeling tools is a strong advantage.
• Ability to read and interpret U.S. construction drawings and specifications.
