Housekeeper – Campus Housing & Student Center

About the role

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is seeking a reliable Housekeeper to maintain a clean, orderly, and welcoming environment in its 177‑unit campus housing facility and Student Center. The role involves daily cleaning, floor care, and occasional deep‑clean projects to support residents, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of the Student Center, including vacuuming, mopping, bathroom sanitation, trash removal, and table sanitizing.
• Clean and disinfect common living spaces, lobbies, community kitchens, public restrooms, and laundry facilities across the housing complex.
• Maintain administrative offices, break rooms, conference rooms, and housekeeping storage areas.
• Execute deep‑clean turnovers after resident move‑outs, covering kitchens, bathrooms, floors, and living areas.
• Provide weekly specialty‑suite housekeeping, including dusting, linen changes, and detailed kitchen/bathroom cleaning.
• Perform floor‑care duties such as carpet cleaning, tile stripping/waxing, and routine sweeping/mopping of hallways and stairways.
• Restock cleaning carts, specialty suites, and recycling areas with necessary supplies.

Required profile

• High School diploma or GED required; one year of housekeeping, hospitality, or facility‑maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain high performance standards.
• Demonstrated honesty, dependability, and integrity.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, and stoop throughout the shift.

Required skills

• Knowledge of industry‑approved cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Understanding of custodial service requirements for campus housing facilities.
• Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
