Housekeeper 3 – Augusta YDC (Georgia)

About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Housekeeper 3 to join the Augusta Youth Development Center (YDC). Working under broad supervision, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Perform cleaning and straightening of assigned areas with minimal supervision.
• Maintain and stock housekeeping equipment, supplies, and laundry items.
• Operate hand tools and power cleaning equipment safely.
• Perform minor repairs to upholstery, mattresses, and resident clothing.
• Prepare specialized clothing items such as restraining garments, helmets, and surgical gowns.
• Plan, develop, schedule, and implement laundry services.

Required profile

• At least one year of experience as a lead worker in a related housekeeping role or as a Housekeeper 2.
• Ability to supervise or direct the work of others when needed.
• Attention to safety procedures, especially when handling contaminated waste.

Required skills

• Proficiency with hand tools and power cleaning equipment.
• Basic sewing and minor alteration skills for clothing and fabric items.
• Ability to perform simple repairs on upholstery and mattresses.
