Household Manager & Family Assistant with Childcare & Meal Prep

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time Household Manager & Family Assistant to support a busy creative family in the Hudson Valley. The role combines childcare, meal preparation, home organization and errands for 24–32 hours per week, with a guaranteed 24 hours and pay of $35‑$40 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Provide school pickups, transport to activities, and hands‑on care for a toddler and elementary‑schooler, including occasional date‑night coverage.
• Maintain household order through daily resets, light tidying, coordinating the weekly cleaning team, and handling routine upkeep (batteries, bulbs, smoke detectors).
• Manage inventory and errands: oversee pantry and supply lists, place recurring orders, handle mail, returns and recycling.
• Prepare meals: batch‑cook lunches, cook or prep dinners several nights a week, accommodate gluten‑free diets, and perform kitchen cleanup.
• Take full responsibility for laundry, linen rotation and keeping laundry areas organized.
• Serve as point of contact for vendors (cleaners, landscapers, pool maintenance, alarm company) and assist with upcoming home renovation projects.
• Coordinate pet care, including vet and grooming appointments and supply management.
• Perform periodic deep‑cleaning projects, organize basements, closets and donate items, and maintain family vehicles.
• Maintain a shared household calendar and support administrative tasks as needed.
