About the role

The State of Georgia is seeking a Housekeeper 1 to join the team at East Central Regional Hospital – Gracewood Campus in Augusta. You will work alongside medical staff to maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment that supports patient recovery and staff efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, hallways, offices, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors using standard cleaning tools and equipment.
• Empty trash receptacles and manage waste disposal according to hospital safety protocols.
• Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, soaps, paper products, and linens in patient units and staff areas.
• Report low inventory or broken equipment to supervisors promptly.
• Follow strict infection‑control guidelines to prevent the spread of germs.
• Store chemicals and cleaning tools securely away from patient zones when not in use.
• Notify maintenance of any safety hazards or repair needs.

Required profile

• Experience in a hospital, nursing home, hotel, or other healthcare setting is preferred.
• A caring and respectful attitude when working around patients receiving mental‑health care.
• Ability to follow detailed cleaning and safety procedures under supervision.

Required skills

• Knowledge of standard cleaning products and safe handling practices.
• Familiarity with infection‑control and hospital sanitation standards.
• Basic inventory‑tracking and supply‑restocking abilities.
