About the role
Join Johnson & Johnson's Engineering team in Baltimore as a Software R&D Co‑Op, working on next‑generation ECMO technology for critical heart and lung patients. This 6‑month, on‑site position offers hands‑on experience in embedded software development for a Class II medical device.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in design and implementation of embedded software for a Class II medical device.
- Develop and maintain software requirements and interfaces.
- Create test cases, perform unit and integration testing.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and system integration activities.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on hardware and data acquisition.
Required profile
- Enrolled in an accredited college pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Available full‑time on site from January 11 2027 to June 25 2027.
- U.S. work authorization without future visa sponsorship requirements.
Required skills
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as C, C++, or Python.
- Familiarity with embedded systems or electronics (plus).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking.
