Health Aide – Treatment Mall (GRHS)

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a compassionate Health Aide to support patients at the Treatment Mall (GRHS) in Savannah. You will provide basic patient care, assist with daily living skills, and ensure a safe environment for individuals with mental health, substance abuse, or developmental challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, including assistance with bathing, mobility, and activities of daily living.
• Take and document vital signs in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Transport and accompany patients to appointments and off‑site activities.
• Observe, record, and report patient behavior, activity, and safety concerns.
• Assist with medication identification, lab draws, and specimen collection.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams, crisis de‑escalation, and hospital committees.
• Facilitate recreational and social activities for patients.

Required profile

• One year of experience or education in direct care for mental health, substance abuse, or developmentally delayed individuals in a hospital, nursing home, or group home setting.
• Current licensure or certification as required by Georgia state regulations.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and follow safety protocols.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
