Head Start Teacher – Senath, MO

About the role

Provide a safe, supervised educational setting for children in the Head Start/Early Head Start environment, including classroom, outdoor play area, and field trips. Encourage parent involvement and implement curriculum to promote school readiness and transition to kindergarten while meeting federal and local performance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a successful and safe learning environment for infants, toddlers, and preschool children.
• Encourage and facilitate parent involvement in all program aspects.
• Coordinate and implement curriculum aligned with Head Start/Early Head Start school readiness goals.
• Ensure compliance with Federal Head Start Performance Standards and applicable local, state, and agency policies.

Required profile

• High School Diploma or GED with Infant/Toddler CDA credential (or obtain within 3 months) for Early Head Start Teacher.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (Pre‑K) for Head Start Teacher.
• Classroom teaching experience with infants/toddlers or preschool children (two years preferred).
• Ability to adapt curriculum for at‑risk, special‑needs, gifted, and culturally diverse children.

Required skills

• Strong written and verbal communication; bilingual English/Spanish highly desirable.
• Intermediate to advanced computer, internet, and email skills.
• Valid Missouri driver’s license and personal vehicle for home visits.
• Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
• Annual physical examination and enrollment in the Child Care Division‑Central Background Registry.
