Head of Treasury Debt Financing

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York is seeking an enterprise leader to serve as Head of Treasury Debt Financing (TDF). This senior position oversees Treasury auction execution and settlement activities as the fiscal agent for the U.S. Treasury Department, guiding a critical operational relationship within the U.S. financial system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide oversight and leadership of Treasury auction services, acting as the primary contact for all requests and issues.
• Coach, mentor, and develop current and emerging leaders, establishing clear accountability and empowering decision‑making.
• Oversee the development of analytical products and deliver strategic guidance based on stakeholder engagement.
• Offer thought leadership on policy themes and identify strategic issues for analytical focus.
• Direct technological innovation for the Treasury debt financing platform to improve execution resilience.
• Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Markets Group, the U.S. Treasury Department, and the Bureau of Fiscal Service.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in Treasury operations or related financial markets.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across government and financial institutions.
• Deep understanding of Treasury auction processes, risk management, and policy implementation.
