Head of Revenue Accounting – Deal Desk & Technical Accounting

About the role

Anthropic is scaling rapidly and needs a senior finance leader to own the technical accounting judgments that support its growth. The Head of Revenue Accounting will shape revenue recognition policies, guide complex deal structures, and ensure robust internal controls across the organization.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the authority on complex revenue recognition matters, researching, documenting, and communicating positions to stakeholders and auditors.
• Develop and maintain revenue recognition policies and lead enhancements to the revenue system.
• Design, implement, and operate internal controls that ensure reliable revenue reporting.
• Own the deal‑desk function from an accounting perspective, defining guardrails for non‑standard contract terms and approving deals in partnership with Sales and Legal.
• Influence deal structures early by providing accounting viewpoints to Sales, Legal, and Finance teams.
• Advocate for automation and system improvements with engineering and product partners.

Required profile

• Demonstrated expertise in revenue accounting, technical accounting, and deal‑desk processes.
• Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams and drive business velocity while maintaining strong controllership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting positions and presenting to internal and external audiences.
