Head of Data

About the role

Alpha, a product studio at the intersection of AI and consumer social, is looking for a Head of Data to work directly with the CEO. You will shape data strategy, build end‑to‑end data infrastructure, and lead a small high‑leverage team in a player‑coach capacity. The role is fully remote within the United States.

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain robust data pipelines, experimentation infrastructure, and metrics dashboards using modern stack (BigQuery, dbt, Mode, Eppo, Dust).
• Partner with the CEO and CFO to identify growth‑driving features, prioritize product decisions, and drive revenue.
• Own the data function end‑to‑end, ensuring precise, reliable systems that inform product roadmaps and company health.
• Lead and mentor a high‑performing data team, hiring and shaping the culture.
• Drive AI‑powered automation across the organization, building tools that accelerate shipping and improve monitoring.

Required profile

• ~10 years of experience leading data teams at high‑growth consumer companies.
• Strong product and business sense; ability to translate data into actionable decisions.
• Hands‑on technical expertise combined with leadership – comfortable writing SQL and reviewing experiments.
• Structured thinker who can break down messy problems and execute efficiently.
• Low‑ego, truth‑seeking attitude with excellent communication skills.
