GTM Engineer Manager – Seller Efficiency

About the role

Claylabs is looking for a GTM Engineer Manager to lead a small team of engineers who build and ship automation that makes the sales organization faster, smarter, and more effective. You will stay hands‑on with code while shaping technical strategy and partnering closely with sales leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Own core sales workflow systems such as book carving, ROE automation, signal detection, and pipeline intelligence, staying hands‑on with the toughest technical problems.
• Partner with the Head of Sales and sales leaders to translate fuzzy business problems into clear technical roadmaps and prioritize high‑impact projects.
• Build intake and prioritization frameworks that align ad‑hoc requests with strategic goals, keeping the team focused on impact over activity.
• Hire, mentor, and grow a team of 3‑5 GTM Engineers, moving them from ticket‑takers to strategic problem‑solvers.
• Set engineering excellence standards for code quality, documentation, observability, and system governance.
• Design tooling that surfaces the right context at the right moment and connect systems through APIs, webhooks, and automation.
• Measure adoption and business impact of shipped systems and iterate based on feedback.

Required profile

• 8+ years building revenue systems (RevOps, GTM Engineering, sales systems engineering) with a track record of writing production code.
• 3+ years managing technical teams in hyper‑growth environments, hiring and developing talent that progresses to senior roles.
• Proven ability to prioritize ruthlessly, say no to low‑leverage work, and communicate clearly with non‑technical stakeholders.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous, fast‑changing settings and creating processes that enable scale.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, SQL, and TypeScript.
• Experience shipping AI‑powered internal tools, automations, or agentic workflows at scale.
• Knowledge of data warehouses, BI tools, ETL / reverse‑ETL pipelines, and event‑driven architectures.
