Grants Specialist Supervisor

About the role

The Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency is seeking a Grants Specialist Supervisor for its Public Assistance Division. In this position you will lead a team of Grants Specialists who administer FEMA Public Assistance grants to eligible recipients across the state, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership, direction, and performance management for a team of Grants Specialists.
• Maintain strong knowledge of all Public Assistance program areas and federal grant policies.
• Develop and sustain cooperative relationships with internal staff, FEMA contacts, and grant recipients.
• Conduct research, compile reports, and respond to inquiries regarding grant administration.
• Review grant expenditures and final documentation to ensure compliance with applicable rules.
• Oversee productivity planning, staff activity, and performance evaluations.
• Complete special projects and travel as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Four years of professional experience in accounting or fiscal activities, or six years as a Grants Specialist with at least two years in a supervisory or lead role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative in grant management functions.
