Global Tax Provision Specialist

About the role

The Global Tax Provision Specialist will lead the quarterly and annual tax provision process for Enerflex, ensuring compliance with ASC 740 and IAS 12. The role involves preparing tax provisions, disclosures, and collaborating with finance, accounting, and external auditors. It also supports both domestic and international tax compliance and provides technical guidance on tax law changes.

Key responsibilities

• Manage global quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations and reporting.
• Prepare and review ASC 740 provisions, including current and deferred tax analyses, uncertain tax positions, and related footnote disclosures.
• Coordinate with external auditors to support audit of tax‑related items in the financial statements.
• Maintain documentation for tax positions, valuation allowances, and return‑to‑provision adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with SOX controls and implement best‑practice improvements to the provision process.
• Research complex tax issues and produce technical memoranda to support company tax positions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
• 5+ years of corporate or public‑accounting tax experience with a focus on ASC 740 provisions.
• 3‑5 years of experience in global tax provision environments.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and project‑management abilities.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ASC 740 and IAS 12 tax accounting standards.
• Experience using tax provision software such as OneSource.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and consolidation tools.
