About the role
Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and semiconductor equipment, is seeking a Global Product Support (GPS) Engineer III to develop procedures, support new products, and solve field issues for customers worldwide.
Key responsibilities
- Develop new procedures and Best Known Methods (BKMs) for servicing new products.
- Contribute to the FMECA process and own first chamber build & test in the Apps lab.
- Solve issues or collaborate with Engineering to address identified problems.
- Work with Manufacturing to develop procedures and participate in new product final testing.
- Partner with Quality & Reliability to review and address top field issues and participate in CAPA processes.
- Conduct or facilitate Failure Analysis as needed.
- Create and document installation, retrofit, and maintenance procedures (Technical Product Manuals).
- Produce Customer Engineering Notices, Internal Service Bulletins, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collect process and qualification data to establish product BKMs.
- Develop training packages for new products and deliver training to Customer Engineers, Process Engineers, and Technical Product Support staff.
- Identify new parts for stocking and coordinate with AGS to ensure proper inventory.
Required profile
- Demonstrates conceptual and practical expertise in product support with basic knowledge of related disciplines.
- Understands best practices, market competition, and integration with other functions.
- Leads small projects and acts as a resource for less‑experienced colleagues.
- Solves complex problems using analysis from multiple sources.

- Salary range $124,000 – $171,000 per year.
- Based in Santa Clara, CA with travel up to 25% of the time.
