Gas & Chemical Technical Facilities Engineer

About the role

The Gas & Chemical Technical Facilities Engineer provides technical leadership for the planning, design, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of gas and chemical delivery equipment, Gas Life Safety Systems, and Pump & Abatement units. This role ensures reliable, safe, and compliant operation of critical facilities supporting semiconductor manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee operations, maintenance, and safety of all gas & chemical delivery systems, GLSS, and P&A to maximize uptime.
• Coordinate with third‑party service providers for mechanical, electrical, fire life safety, process piping, and control system maintenance.
• Monitor third‑party performance and report key performance indicators.
• Respond to business interruptions and internal escalations, performing root‑cause analysis using 8D methodology.
• Evaluate system capacities, recommend improvements, and manage budget and supplier invoices.
• Lead engineering and design teams for instrumentation, controls, and life‑safety systems across multiple projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of semiconductor or high‑purity hazardous gas facilities management experience (or 10+ years equivalent).
• Experience with industrial gas and chemical delivery, gas abatement, and wastewater treatment systems.

Required skills

• Gas distribution system design and operation.
• PLC‑based control systems.
• Knowledge of local fire, building, and environmental codes.
• Proficiency with SPC, 8D, DMAIC, and FMEA problem‑solving tools.
• Instrumentation and controls (I&C) analysis for life‑safety systems.
