Full-Time Vascular Surgeon Faculty Position

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and LSU Health Sciences Center‑Shreveport are seeking a full‑time faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. The position involves both clinical practice and academic responsibilities within a tertiary‑care hospital serving a 2.5 million‑person region. Candidates must be fellowship‑trained and board eligible or board certified in Vascular Surgery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑volume open and endovascular vascular surgery, including complex aneurysm repair, aorto‑iliac disease, limb‑salvage, dialysis access, carotid disease, TCAR, PE/DVT, venous disease, and trauma cases.
• Participate in resident and medical student education, supervising surgical trainees in the General Surgery program.
• Engage in clinical and/or basic‑science research with an expectation of scholarly publications.
• Contribute to the development of a future Vascular Fellowship program.

Required profile

• Fellowship‑trained in Vascular Surgery.
• Board eligible or board certified (BE/BC) in Vascular Surgery.

Required skills

• Open vascular surgery techniques.
• Endovascular procedures, including use of intravascular ultrasound.
• Aneurysm repair and aorto‑iliac disease management.
• Limb‑salvage and dialysis access surgery.
• Carotid disease treatment and TCAR.
• PE/DVT and venous disease management.
• Trauma surgery.
