Full-Time Surgical Technologist

About the role

The Surgical Technologist prepares, handles, and maintains instruments, supplies, and equipment needed for surgical procedures while protecting the sterile field. Working under the direction of physicians, the Unit Manager, and the Chief Nursing Officer, the role supports KHI’s commitment to high‑quality patient care and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and arrange surgical instruments and equipment according to each surgeon’s preference cards.
• Maintain the sterile field throughout procedures and apply aseptic techniques.
• Anticipate surgeon needs, assist during operations, and respond to emergencies with sound judgment.
• Document in‑service attendance, attend staff meetings, and complete mandatory hospital training.

Required profile

• Graduate of a Surgical Technology program or equivalent training.
• Certified Surgical Technologist with BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Physical ability to lift 50‑75 lb, perform combined lifts of up to 150 lb, and stand for extended periods.
• Routine exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues as part of duties.

Required skills

• Surgical instrument handling and setup.
• Knowledge of sterilization methods and aseptic technique.
• Understanding of anesthetic agents and patient monitoring basics.
• Ability to follow surgeon preference cards and procedural protocols.
