Full-Time Student Success Advisor

About the role

The Full-Time Student Success Advisor works within the Student Engagement division at Atlanta Technical College to provide intensive, evidence‑based support for students enrolled in high‑demand career programs. Reporting to the Director of Student Engagement, the advisor helps students achieve academic and vocational success through personalized coaching and coordination with internal and external resources.

Key responsibilities

• Advise students on academic requirements, course selection, and graduation pathways, primarily within healthcare disciplines.
• Perform and interpret degree audits and monitor student progress.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external partners to deliver holistic student support.
• Conduct weekly individual or group meetings to develop educational and career plans.
• Respond to early‑alert situations, document academic achievement, and ensure compliance with success plans.
• Refer students to appropriate resources for additional assistance as needed.
• Participate in academic division meetings to stay informed on program policies.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and outcomes.

Required profile

• Understanding of multicultural student needs and ability to provide success coaching to diverse, low‑income, and academically under‑prepared populations.
• Strong time‑management skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and at least two years of directly related experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, and attention to detail.
• Willingness to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the BANNER student information system or similar student database platforms.
• Competent operation of computers and job‑related software programs.
