Full-Time RN – Post‑Op Surgical Services (Sign‑on Bonus)

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a full‑time Registered Nurse to join the Post‑Op Surgical Services Unit on Jeff Highway. The RN will provide patient‑centered care using the Nursing Process and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the Nursing Process to deliver safe, evidence‑based patient care.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and staff.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources effectively.
• Analyze data to drive quality improvement and change initiatives.
• Adapt communication style to respect cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
• Perform other related duties as required, including compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior work experience required.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time‑management abilities.

Required skills

• Computer data‑entry proficiency.
• Ability to use Windows‑style applications and role‑specific software.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
