About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join its Acute Medical Stepdown Unit at the OMC Jeff Hwy location. This full‑time, day‑shift position focuses on delivering high‑quality patient care using the Nursing Process and adhering to professional standards.

Key responsibilities

• Effectively use the Nursing Process in patient care delivery.
• Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader on the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Utilize data and knowledge to evaluate outcomes and promote change.
• Embrace behaviors that enhance patient satisfaction, employee morale, and nursing professionalism.
• Adapt communication and care approaches to respect patient privacy, cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse diploma; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• No prior work experience required.

Required skills

• Proficient with Windows‑style applications and related software packages.
• Computer skills for data entry and information retrieval.
