Full-Time Montessori Classroom Assistant for Infants & Toddlers

About the role

Join Discovery, a vibrant Montessori community serving children from 12 weeks to 6 years. As a full‑time Classroom Assistant you will support the Lead Guide in an infant‑toddler classroom (ages 18 months‑3 years), helping children reach their developmental potential in an authentic Montessori environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Guide in delivering the Montessori curriculum and daily routines.
• Prepare and organize classroom materials according to Montessori principles.
• Observe and document each child’s progress and developmental milestones.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and inspiring prepared environment for infants and toddlers.
• Support health and safety procedures, including CPR, first aid, and TB screening compliance.

Required profile

• Earned at least 12 college‑level early childhood education credits, with a minimum of three in infant/toddler care.
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for working with young children and a warm, joyful, professional demeanor.
• Current CPR and first‑aid certification, or willingness to obtain both before starting employment.
• Negative TB test result within the past 12 months, or willingness to be tested prior to hire.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (green card holder).
• Willingness to undergo Montessori training and embrace the method’s philosophy.
• Additional assets include experience in high‑quality preschools, especially authentic Montessori settings, and the ability to share interests such as music, art, science, gardening, or movement with children.
