About the role

R+L Carriers is seeking full‑time Forklift Operators for its Birmingham, AL service center. The role involves safely moving freight in and out of trailers on a roofed dock, operating a forklift in a fast‑paced environment. Employees earn $25.54 per hour and receive vacation after 90 days.

Key responsibilities

• Move various types of freight safely in and out of enclosed trailers up to 53’ long.
• Operate a forklift on a roofed, non‑climate‑controlled dock.
• Load and unload freight while adhering to safety procedures.
• Read and interpret shipping manifests.
• Interact with computer displays to track shipments.

Required profile

• Ability to bend, lift, and stoop without difficulty.
• Dependable and able to work in a fast‑paced environment.
• Prior forklift experience, preferably in a fast‑paced setting.
• Ability to read manifests and use computer displays.
• Some experience with less‑than‑truckload (LTL) operations is preferred.
