Full-Time Academic Cognitive Neurologist (Physician)

About the role

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport together with LSU Health Sciences Center‑Shreveport are seeking a board‑certified/eligible Cognitive Neurologist to join their academic Neurology department. The position is full‑time, on‑site, and offers leadership opportunities for qualified physicians.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality clinical care to patients with neurological and cognitive disorders.
• Supervise and teach medical students and neurology residents in clinics, grand rounds and didactic sessions.
• Contribute to departmental initiatives, including growth of the Dementia program and multidisciplinary care.
• Mentor faculty and residents, offering clinical expertise and guidance.
• Manage a large patient volume and serve as a regional expert in cognitive neurology.

Required profile

• Board‑certified/board‑eligible in Neurology with eligibility for a Louisiana medical license.
• Demonstrated experience in cognitive neurology, dementia care, and academic medicine.
• Strong interest in teaching, research and departmental leadership.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and engage with the academic community.
