Freelance On‑Site Spanish Interpreter (New York)

About the role

The Language Doctors, Inc. is expanding its network of on‑site Spanish interpreters in New York. As a freelance contractor you will provide professional interpretation services for a variety of client appointments, ranging from one‑time to short‑notice assignments.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver accurate consecutive (and simultaneous when required) interpretation on‑site while maintaining confidentiality.
• Arrive punctually, follow client/site procedures, and stay for the full appointment duration.
• Confirm assignments promptly and keep the scheduling team informed of any issues.
• Adhere to professional codes of ethics, including impartiality and confidentiality.
• Complete onboarding steps and required documentation for each assignment.

Required profile

• Professional fluency in both English and Spanish.
• At least one year of paid interpreting experience in any sector (medical, legal, education, corporate, etc.).
• Strong punctuality, responsiveness, and clear communication.
• Reliable transportation to travel within your coverage area.
• Interpreter training or certification is a plus but not mandatory.
