FP&A Manager

About the role

Sentry is building an AI‑native future for application monitoring and needs a Finance Planning & Analysis leader to shape its FP&A function. You will partner across the business, especially with Engineering, to bring financial visibility to cloud infrastructure, AI spend and other major cost categories.

Key responsibilities

• Own forecasting, reporting and financial analysis for cloud infrastructure, AI‑related spend, software, vendors and other major cost categories.
• Partner with Engineering leaders to translate technical consumption into financial forecasts and identify opportunities to improve unit economics and gross margin.
• Develop actionable reporting on cloud costs, including trends, allocation, utilization, commitments and variance analysis.
• Evaluate cloud commitments, reserved capacity and vendor agreements through financial modeling.
• Build a scalable expense‑management process that gives budget owners clear visibility into spend, forecasts and accountability.
• Support monthly and quarterly reporting, budget‑to‑actual analysis, variance explanations and accrual inputs in partnership with Accounting.
• Drive company‑wide planning, headcount forecasting and management reporting alongside the Director of FP&A.
• Identify automation opportunities to replace manual finance processes with scalable solutions.

Required profile

• Self‑starter who can own a problem from messy data through recommendation and implementation.
• Genuinely curious about why costs move and able to translate technical concepts into financial drivers.
• Enjoy building processes, models and reporting from scratch and continuously simplifying them.
• Strong financial instincts and comfortable working with large, imperfect datasets.
• Ability to move between detailed cost analysis and broader FP&A responsibilities.
• Comfortable with the pace, ambiguity and ownership required in a fast‑growing company.

Required skills

• Experience with BI tools such as Looker.
• Experience with BI tools such as Tableau.
• Experience with NetSuite or similar modern FP&A/spend‑management platforms.
