Forward Deployed Engineer Intern – Summer 2027

About the role

We are looking for a motivated Forward Deployed Engineer Intern to join Saronic Technologies this summer. You will work on autonomous surface vessels, gaining hands‑on experience in software development, testing and field deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and test software components for navigation, sensor integration and communication.
• Collaborate on real‑time decision‑making, path‑planning and object‑detection algorithms.
• Develop testing frameworks and participate in hardware‑in‑the‑loop (HIL) testing.
• Troubleshoot software, hardware and networking issues during deployments.
• Create technical documentation such as design specs, user manuals and test plans.
• Work with mechanical, electrical and systems engineers to ensure seamless software‑hardware integration.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities; able to work independently and in a fast‑paced team.
• Willingness to travel for field testing of autonomous surface vessels.
• Full‑time onsite availability (40 hours/week) from May through August 2027.
