About the role
The Georgia Department of Public Health is seeking a Foodnet Epidemiologist (EPI 2) to lead Emerging Infections Program (EIP) surveillance and foodborne disease projects across the state. You will work closely with Emory contractors and internal teams to ensure high‑quality data collection, analysis, and reporting for enteric conditions.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate sharing of EIP data between DPH and Emory contractors.
- Assist in case ascertainment, data collection, cleaning, and quality assurance for FoodNet conditions.
- Collaborate with biostatistics and informatics staff to optimize data visualization and integrity.
- Attend required meetings with DPH, Emory, and CDC partners.
- Support DPH EIP team operations and prepare written reports and presentations.
Required profile
- Experience conducting EIP surveillance activities and managing public‑health data.
- Strong background in epidemiology, public health, or related field.
- Ability to work collaboratively with state, academic, and federal partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
